Text Messaging Terms of Use and Privacy Policy

ABOUT THIS TEXT MESSAGE SERVICE

This text message service allows donors, community partners, and other supporters to have one-to-one text conversations with Pregnancy Choices staff, such as our Development Director, from a Pregnancy Choices business phone number. Messages are written and sent by a staff member and typically cover scheduling meetings, answering questions about events or your giving, and other personal follow-up.

This service is not used for fundraising appeals, marketing, promotional messages, group or bulk messages, or automated notifications. We will not send you solicitations by text message.

DEFINITIONS

“Opting In,” “Opt In,” and “Opt-In” refer to requesting, joining, agreeing to, enrolling in, signing up for, acknowledging, responding to, or otherwise consenting to receive one or more text messages, including by sending a text message to one of our business phone numbers.

“Text Message Service” includes any arrangement or situation in which we send one or more messages addressed to your mobile phone number, including text messages (such as SMS, MMS, or successor protocols or technologies).

HOW YOU OPT IN

You opt in to this service in one of two ways: (1) by sending a text message to a Pregnancy Choices business phone number, or (2) by providing your mobile phone number to a Pregnancy Choices staff member and asking to communicate by text. In either case, you will receive an initial automated message confirming your opt-in and explaining how to get help or stop messages. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of making a gift or of any other relationship with Pregnancy Choices.

CONSENTING TO TEXT MESSAGING

By consenting to receive text messages from us, you agree to these Text Messaging Terms of Use and to our general Privacy Policy at Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, incorporated here by reference.

E-SIGN DISCLOSURE

By agreeing to receive text messages, you also consent to the use of an electronic record to document your agreement. You may withdraw your consent to the use of the electronic record by replying STOP.

COST OF TEXT MESSAGES

We do not charge you for the messages you send and receive through this service. Message and data rates may apply. Depending on your plan with your wireless or other applicable provider, you may be charged by your carrier or other applicable provider.

FREQUENCY OF TEXT MESSAGES

Message frequency varies. This service is for conversational, person-to-person communication between you and our staff. We may send you an initial message providing details about the service.

After that, the number of text messages you receive will depend on how you use the service and whether you take steps that generate more messages from us, such as sending a HELP request.

OPTING OUT OF TEXT MESSAGES

If you no longer want to receive text messages, reply to any text message with STOP, QUIT, END, REVOKE, OPT OUT, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCRIBE. Because this is a person-to-person communication service, opt-out requests apply to the conversation between you and the specific staff member and business phone number you are texting with. After you opt out, we may send you one confirmation message and no further messages from that number. Reply START to that number if you want to resume.

PREGNANCY CHOICES TEXT MESSAGE SERVICE PRIVACY POLICY

We respect your privacy. We only use information you provide through this service to transmit text messages and respond to you. This may include sharing information with platform providers, phone companies, and other vendors who assist us in delivering text messages.

Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We reserve the right to disclose information as necessary to satisfy any law, regulation, or governmental request, to avoid liability, or to protect our rights or property.

This Text Message Service Privacy Policy applies to your use of the Text Message Service and is not intended to modify our general Privacy Policy, referenced above, which may govern the relationship between you and us in other contexts.

We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised terms.
